I’m Lissa Oldham. I’m 12- years -old and I’ve been writing songs for four years now. There’s nothing else I’d rather do. I live in a ranch in the high mountain desert of Colorado. I enjoy the sound of the wind and the birds in the morning. Nothing beats living in the country!

I started writing songs back in 2015.  My music back then was more in the style of Sarah McLachlan who was my favorite artist then. I still occasionally listen to her music. I moved from a folk/pop sound to a  country/rock/pop sound around 2017 when my inspiration came from Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Adele, the Goo Goo Dolls, Jana Kramer, Carly Pearce, Tim McGraw and many more.

On Christmas Day in 2016, my dad bought me my first acoustic guitar.  On Christmas Day in 2017, he gave me a DVD called Guitar for the Absolute Beginner by Susan Mazer.  Ever since then, Susan Mazer has been my mentor for the guitar.  Starting with blues music is the best place to begin learning the guitar.

I made the breakthrough to create this website and “go public” after writing Long Ride Home, a song that describes a trip I took with my brother, sister, and dad up to a town called Crested Butte in the Colorado mountains. Long Ride Home is the first song I released.

I record all of my songs from home. I enjoy the challenge of recording everything myself, including my videos.

I’ve been homeschooled my entire life.  It gives me the opportunity to be creative. I spend much of my time writing lyrics and playing the electric and acoustic guitar.  In my spare time, I make jewelry and do plein air drawing. My journey continues and I continue to learn new things.
